Quotes from Win the Talent War, Harvard Business School Press

"The war for talent is creating a new business reality."

"Companies that scored in the top quintile of our talent management index earned, on average, twenty two percentage points higher return to shareholders than their industry peers."

"Talent is now a critical driver of corporate performance and that a company's ability to attract, develop, and retain talent will be a major competitive advantage far into the future …the war for talent is far from over. In fact, we assert that it will persist for at least another two decades"

"Leadership is the biggest single constraint to growth, and it is the most critical business issue we face" CEO Ralph Larsen, J&J

"Over the next two decades companies will be competing intensely for the limited supply of very capable managers…talented leaders are needed to make the other performance drivers happen."

"Why have so few companies been successful in raising their talent game? Many have not consciously made the link between better talent management and business performance"

Leadership Excellence

"Managers can maintain direction, but they can't change it. To move people in a new direction, you need to influence them, you need to lead them"

"How you choose to respond to change - as leaders or as followers will determine your effectiveness and your potential impact on your organization. Whatever you will accomplish will be restricted by your ability to lead others"

Excerpts from Leadership Excellence Retreat 2002

Leadership Excellence focuses on the key factors that drive your bottom line results. It assists managers in taking their leadership skills to a higher level by identifying their own responses to change and how they can redirect their staff and create alignment within their team.

An intriguing and interactive discussion on:

  • Accountability - where does it begin and end?
  • Motivating our people to be more accountable.
  • The cost of de-motivated staff on your bottom line.
  • Effective delegation for maximum team effort.
  • Overcoming resistance, increasing adaptability.
  • Preparing your team to accept changes as challenging growth opportunities.
